Welcome to the application form for the Energy Resilience Fund

The fund provides a package of independent energy assessment support and blended funding of loan and grant to eligible charities and social enterprises to install energy saving measures or generation technology to buildings or land (including new builds), and/ or to purchase more energy efficient or environmentally friendly vehicles or equipment. 

The fund is managed by Social Investment Business, and delivered in partnership with Big Issue Invest, Charity Bank, Co-operative and Community Finance, GMCVO, Groundwork, Key Fund, Resonance, The Architectural Heritage Fund and The Ubele Initiative. 

This application form should take approximately 25 minutes to complete if you have all of the information to hand.

At the end of the application form, we will ask you to attach the following information:

  • Last 2 sets of approved financial accounts (showing figures for 3 years, if available).  
  • Latest set of management accounts (including P&L and Balance Sheet).   
  • Title deeds or suitable lease agreement for the building/ land where you would like to install energy saving/ generating measures (for building/ land projects only). 
  • Recent independent energy assessment report - only needed if you already have one (for building/ land projects only).  
Please prepare 12 months of gas and electricity bills (including solar) for the building/ land where you would like to install energy saving/ generating measures (for building/ land projects only). If your application is eligible, we will request 12 months of gas and electricity bills.

If you are applying to install energy saving/ generating measures to buildings/ land, you must also meet the following requirements: 

Have freehold ownership or a suitable written lease agreement with a minimum of 12 years remaining on it for the building/ land where you would like to install the measures. We will require a copy of the Title Deeds/ lease agreement with this application. 

Be able to gain written consent from your organisation's governance board and, if the building/ land is leased, the landlord for the energy saving/ generating measures. We will require a copy of the written consent/s later in the application process.   

Have a recent (dated within the last 24 months) and suitable independent energy assessment report or be happy to have one paid for by the Fund and carried out by one of the Funds Approved Energy Audit Suppliers. If you already have one, we will require a copy with this application. 

If you are applying to purchase energy efficient/ environmentally friendly vehicles or equipment, you must also meet the following requirement:   

Vehicles/ equipment (any non-property related assets) should be intended to be purchased and owned by the applicant organisation and to therefore sit on the financial balance sheet of the applicant organisation.

Must have a formal company structure/ be incorporated and be a registered UK Charity, Community Interest Company or Community Benefit Society, or, if another legal structure, have a social object, asset lock and restriction on profit distribution written into its governing document.

Partner Details

The partner you select will assess your application and decide whether to recommend it to the Funds Investment Committee. If you are awarded funding, they will also check-in with you periodically to see how your project is going and to collect monitoring information.

Building Ownership
